Splashes and Seeds!

Thanks to an awesome deal at my work, I get free passes to the local waterpark for free!  What a dang good deal. I was off yesterday, so Ashley and I took advantage of this and spent the whole day getting sunburnt and water logged.  We arrived right as the park opened, so we had a chance to ride most of the things we were brave enough to ride.  We alternated between lazy river, riding rides, and being lazy.  A perfect day of fun if you ask me.

Sometimes we pretend we are sisters.  Twins, to be exact.

Wasting the day away.  Don't be too jealous.

So after spending all the live long day in the sun, I came home and about tore the fridge down trying to get watermelon.  I had bought this watermelon at the grocery store a few days ago because they were on sale and the sign said seedless.  Check out what I got:

WHAT ARE THOSE???!!?  False advertising on the seedless.

A few seeds didn't stop me from eating my weight in it though.

Watermelon is by far my favorite fruit ever.  I could eat it all day everyday and be completely content.  Too bad it is only good in the summertime.  Do you have a special fruit/food that you especially love during the sweet summertime?

100!

This is my 100th post!  I really cannot believe that I have written that many, and it is even crazier to think about what all has happened throughout the last 100 posts.  Six months ago, I started this blog as a way to show the public an inside view of our marathon team, but since then it has turned into so much more.  This blog is a reflection of my daily life, both in fitness and everyday encounters.  So many things are in store for future posts and I can't wait for hundreds more!

This pretty much sums up the past six months and 100 blog posts.

In honor of it being my 100th post, I decided to do a workout with the theme of 100s.  So here is today's workout:

My cute little gym!

Upper body
2x20 Bicep Curls            40 reps
2x15 Lat pulldowns        30 reps
2x15 Shoulder press       30 reps

Total of 100 reps for upper body

Don't hate me because you ain't me!
 Lower body
3x20 Leg Press               60 reps
2x20 Leg curls                40 reps

Total of 100 reps for lower body

My leg muscles be looking good!
 Abs
2x50 Kayaks

Total of 100 abdominals

And since I love you all soooo much, I walked and ran a teeny tiny bit at the end.

3.03 miles: 37:53

Why do I look so awesome when I leave the air conditioned gym...

and so nasty upon ending an outside run?  Good question.

Chocolate Slip n Slide

Yep, you heard right.  Today at work we had a Chocolate Slip n Slide?  Best idea ever.  In case you didn't know, I'm not the biggest fan of getting all down and dirty, but today I put aside any clean rule I may have had and completely got a little wet and wild.

First, we had to get the chocolate pudding.

The poison.

Disregard the fact that the pudding looks like porta potty remnants.

Just to make sure the contraption we created was safe, I had to lather myself in chocolate and hurl myself down the tarp.  Classy, I know.

Covered in some nastiness that was formerly chocolate pudding.

Graceful as can be.

Gee, I have chocolate up my rear end and I like it.

Its easy to smile when you get paid to bathe in chocolate.

As if we were not dirty enough, I embraced my inner male self and lathered in mud.  This princess got down and dirty and even had dirty fingernails.  Love me now, judge me later.

Completely horrified by the lard I was sitting in.

Dang mud covered my biceps up.

Dirty fingernails. A first for me.

It was a super fun day and the kids really enjoyed it.  Maybe next year we can just have one giant pool of pudding and syrup, then I could eat it as opposed to just rolling in it, hog style.  Happy Saturday!

Racking up at Runners Market

Runners Market is a running store in the Knoxville area.  They have two different locations so that people from all parts of the area can come rack up in running shoes, gear, and other various fitness related items!  If you remember from my post earlier, I went shopping today!  My last stop on today's agenda was a quick trip to RM.  I had a gift card to spend, plus some shorts to take back, so needless to say I had a bit of store credit to my name, which made for a not so quick stop.

I had lost the gift card I had but the staff working there were so kind and helped me out a lot and ended up still letting me have it.  Plus the shorts I returned were actually a gift so I didn't have the reciept and they still even let me return those!  Super fine customer service, let me tell you. After multiple trips around the store, I didn't really see any apparel that I absolutely could not live without, so I stocked up on socks and fuel.  I tried my new black socks out tonight and they are perfect!  I definitely see a new sock addiction brewing.

Hello new socks and super good fuel.

As if I wasn't annoying enough to the poor people working there, they even threw in two extra energy gels!  How neat is that?  I'm a sucker for free stuff so I really racked up.  The best part?  I didn't use all my store credit so now I just have an excuse to go back and get more goodies!

I love any place that has good products and exceptional customer service and Runners Market is overflowing with both.  As somewhat of a bigger person, it is a little intimidating to walk into a running store without feeling a little hesitant about my 10 minute mile pace, but I'm always welcomed there and walk out feeling better about myself.  Props to you, Runners Market for being fabulous and on your A-game!

Check RM out and be part of the awesomeness!

Are there any running specific stores that you cannot live without?

I got the goods!

After sleeping in well past eleven today (such a slacker, i know), I got ready and drove to Knoxville to meet Chandler for a shopping trip.  Our first store was unsuccessful so we decided to just go to the mall.  Umm, totally forgot about this crazy power outage and over half of the stores inside the mall were closed.  Too bad, so sad.

We grabbed some grub then headed into the Limited!  They were having a massive sale, so we definitely took advantage!  Upon checkout, the items I bought were actually even lower than ticket price and then I realized that they do a student discount too which got added to my already on super sale items!  Score for super savings!

One of today's purchases.

Afterwards, I went to Calhoun's to sit in Ashley's section while she brought me an endless supply of ice water. Love her for that. And, like the dork awesome best friend I am, I actually took my new purchases in to show her! She of course loved them, and loves me so its just a happy day!
Yes, I requested the kid's menu.

Soft pretzels with beer cheese and horseradish mustard.  Yumm-o.

Shopping bags sure do make great dinner dates.

Check back tonight for today's workout log, and to see the goods I got from Runners Market!

Miss USA and Operation Thighs Don't Touch

Tonight I sat with my mother and embraced my inner girly girl.  We watched the Miss USA pageant while I paraded around pretending to be an anorexic blonde who has nothing better to do with her life than get manicures and look in the mirror.  Those girls really are intense though because unless my high heels are of the Asics family, I ain't wearing them.  I'm sure if I actually met these girls in real life, then we'd be really good friends.

Although about 83% of those pageant girls may be vain and full of themselves, they have super hot bods and use them to their advantage.  This brings me to my next point: Operation Thighs Don't Touch.  Lord haste the day when I can stand onstage anywhere and have my photo made where my thighs are not touching each other.  What a glorious day that will be.  Please excuse me while I go exercise for 20 consecutive hours to meet pageant standards.

The only beauty pageant award I'll ever recieve.

Notice the resemblance in this photo and the one below.

Girls Night

It is no secret that I absolutely love having a great time no matter what it is.  Tonight I met with two of my favorite girls for a spur of the moment old fashioned GNO!  That's Girls Night Out for all you people who don't listen to Hannah Montana!  We met at Calhouns on the River for some good country bbq and outside dining.  The weather was super perfect for eating on the deck by the water.

GNO with Kelly the Irish lady.

Chandler and myself.

So healthy.  You know you want some.

I met Kelly and Chandler last year in college and have had so much fun getting to know them over the past year.  Luckily they only live about an hour from me so visiting is rather easy, but this was our first outing of the summer.

Chandler is such a fashionista.  Hope she was proud that I was wearing something besides sweaty workout clothes.

Calhouns BBQ sauce really is great!

Oh, and did I mention our awesome server??  She kept my water glass constantly full which is really hard to do.  The restaurant was also really busy, but she had a big smile on her face and even sneaked us some cornbread.  Who is this fabulous server you may ask?  See if you recognize her.

It was my best friend Ashley!!!

She totes got a good tip.  (p.s. yes I have eyebrows.  They are just totes blonde)

Following all this good eating, we made a mad dash to the mall to stock up on our jewelry supplies and find some other goodies.  I ended up getting a few hair accessories and earrings too.  Nothing could stop me from drooling over Lilly dresses though.  I even tried one on and vowed that if I reach my goal weight by the end of summer, then I shall splurge on it.

Since we couldn't ride together, we sang at each other at the redlights.

Please ignore the hair and focus on the accessory.  Be glad my hair is actually clean.  And brushed.

The most perfect sailboat dress ever.

Do you ever have GNO?
